About the Department
- The English Department of GPM Government College has been functional since the establishment of the college. There are no sanctioned UG or PG programmes in the department.
- Therefore, the department faculty have only been teaching Common English classes. Currently there are two faculty members in the department. The English department focuses on the development of the students’ language and communication skills.
- The teachers in the department have been offering remedial sessions for our students. We encourage the students to utilize every opportunity to improve their language.

Message from Head of the Department
- Folklore Club - The Kerala Folklore Academy has sanctioned a unit of the Folklore Club in GPM Govt. College with Reg. No.39/2013.
The Folklore Club has become very active in the college by organizing Saff Club series of activities. The activities conducted under the initiatives of the Folklore Club added a new life to the campus.
The Folklore Club had started a face book social network group titled CHILAMBU.
