About the Department
- The Malayalam Department of GPM Government College has been functioning since the establishment of the college. The department has no sanctioned BA or MA programmes.
- The faculty of Malayalam department teaches Malayalam as Second Language.The department of Malayalam aims to inspire the students to cherish Malayalam as their mother tongue and as a strong literary language.
- The department has been conducting a weekly programme called “Guruvaarachinthakal” in which a faculty introduces a topic and discusses it with the students.
- Malayalam department’s vision is to encourage students to think critically. Apart from reading literary works, the department also encourages students to express their views regarding literature and the contemporary society.
